GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo opens new facility

Hyderabad: GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo (GHAC), a division of GMR Air Cargo and Aerospace Engineering Limited, on Monday announced the inauguration of a new facility to handle international courier and express cargo shipments.
The new facility is dedicated to handling international couriers that are approved and notified by customs authorities to handle these shipments. With active guidance and support from Hyderabad Customs, the new facility was quickly developed and commissioned by GHAC.
The new facility was inaugurated by BV Siva Naga Kumari, Chief Commissioner of Customs, in the presence of SGK Kishore, Executive Director and Chief Innovation Officer-GMR Airports, Pradeep Panicker, CEO-GMR Hyderabad International Airport and Saurabh Kumar, CEO -GMR Air Cargo.
Located within the premises of the GHAC terminal, the facility will be the new gateway for the import and export of courier freight shipments from the region. The new facility is connected to Indian Customs’ Express Cargo Clearance System (ECCS), which will enable smooth and speedy processing and clearance of courier shipments at the terminal. The facility is also well equipped with all supporting infrastructure and equipment including advanced security screening and cargo handling systems.
GHAC also intends to launch a large-scale expansion of the Hyderabad Air Cargo Terminal facilities including a larger, purpose-built express/courier cargo handling facility.
