Apple’s external display will launch in 2022, according to Apple’s launch plans, with the model still expected to be half the price of the existing Pro Display XDR.
There were rumors that Apple would offer consumers a cheaper monitor option to the Pro Display XDR at $ 4,999. In the forecast released on Sunday for the 2022 release schedule, it is expected that such a display will be released.
Included in theBloomberg “Power On” newsletter, Mark Gurman says he “hopes that Apple’s next external monitor” will be launched “in the coming year.” Gurman also writes that it is “intended to be about half the price of Pro Display XDR”.
Gurman’s comments follow a previous complaint in December, saying Apple was working on a more value-conscious option, one that will be a “hot seller for those looking to add a bigger screen to their new MacBook Pro without spend the equivalent of a luxury car down payment on the Pro Display XDR. “
He said the cost of producing screens for the Pro Display XDR has “probably gone down” since its launch.
Rumors in December indicated that LG was working on a trio of displays based on the current sizes of the Pro Display XDR and iMac, which equates to 24, 27, and 32-inch screens.
However, apart from Bloomberg Earlier reporting in January 2021 that a lower cost external monitor was on the way, there are relatively few other rumors to back up the predictions.
