Increased pallet shipping rates for the Amazon Partnered Carrier program
Amazon has announced an increase in pallet shipping rates for Partnered Carrier Program pallet shipments sent between the UK and the EU. The increase in pallet shipping rates will be effective from October 1, 2021. This shipping rate increase results from the end of a brokerage fee promotion.
Partner Carrier Program rates billed in Seller Central will now include:
- Transport rates (existing cost)
- Brokerage fees (new cost) applied by the carrier (Kuehne + Nagel) for moving stock across the UK-EU customs border.
Shipments that are sent between the UK and the EU must pass a customs border. If you are shipping with Kuehne + Nagel and you do not have a legal entity in the UK and EU, a customs broker must provide indirect representation for your shipment. Before creating your shipment in Seller Central, you should make sure that you have an appropriate customs broker and confirm that Kuehne + Nagel can handle your shipment.
As previously announced, to support sellers in this change, Amazon has covered these customs brokerage fees during the post-border promotion (January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021) and will continue to do so until September 30, 2021.
This change will cause the UK-EU Cross Border Partner Carrier Program pallet shipping rate to increase from 13% to 69%, subject to number of pallets shipped, shipping address and from the destination Amazon warehouse.
You will continue to be responsible for handling customs duties and taxes, as well as any other costs associated with shipping inventory across the UK-EU border.
