Lineage Logistics in Novi, the world’s largest temperature-controlled industrial real estate investment fund (FPI) and logistics solutions provider, today announced the completion of the acquisition of UTI Forwarding, a Rotterdam-based freight forwarder, in the Nederlands. Acquisition plans were first announced on April 26.

UTI is a leading freight forwarding company – which arranges freight shipments on behalf of the shipping company – which specializes in the export and import of cargo in full containers, handling both cargo to temperature controlled and other containerized cargo.

“With UTI, we will create even greater opportunities to deliver end-to-end supply chain offerings to our shared customers,” said Mike McClendon, president of international operations and executive vice president of network optimization at Lineage. “We are delighted to complete this acquisition and officially welcome UTI to the Lineage family.”

The acquisition marks Lineage’s entry into the European freight forwarding market, expanding its end-to-end supply chain offerings by improving operational efficiency for the movement of goods through its global warehouse network of over 340 installations in 15 countries in North America, Europe, Asia and South America.

Lineage was recently ranked # 1 data science company and 23rd overall on Fast Company’s 2019 list of the world’s most innovative companies. It is also in partnership with Feeding America, a national food network with more than 200 food banks that feed more than 50 million people each year.

Terms of the contract are not disclosed.
