Havaş and Qatar Airways extend contract in Turkey

The Turkish handler Havaş, a subsidiary of TAV Airports and a member of Groupe ADP, has renewed its contract with Qatar Airways at several airports in Turkey.
The contract – which is in effect until 2025 – will see Havaş provide freight and warehousing services for the carrier at Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Antalya airports, as well as freight services. at Adana airport.
Havaş General Manager S. Mete Erna said: “We are very pleased to extend our service agreement with Qatar Airways Cargo to create synergy on freight and warehouse services.
“For the past two years, we have been using refrigerated trucks designed for the equipment fleet in our warehouses to transport special goods such as medicines, food, etc. in Turkey. Havaş was the first ground handling company in Turkey to use refrigerated trucks.
“In addition, we have doubled the size of our warehouse at Istanbul Airport with an investment of around 11 million euros, while also investing in several brand new technologies and equipment in our warehouses at Ankara airports. , Izmir and Antalya – covering a total area of 20,457 m2; and lead by example in the sector.
“We will continue to increase the efficiency of our operations and adopt innovations to help all of our business partners succeed.”
Earlier this week, Havaş received EU Good Distribution Practices (GDP) certification for its operations at Istanbul Airport.
